In early February, the freethinkers group Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) debuted its 14 X 48-foot stained glass style billboard with the message "Imagine No Religion" in Columbus, Ohio.

Hamas launches TV Bugs Bunny-lookalike who declares 'I will eat the Jews'

A Hamas TV show for children which was condemned last year for a Mickey Mouse lookalike character who encouraged terror attacks against Israelis has produced a new outrage - a Bugs Bunny lookalike who declares "I will eat the Jews".

Assud the rabbit is the latest star of the Hamas children's TV show "Tomorrow's Pioneers". The show is produced in Gaza by the Hamas-controlled Al-Aqsa TV station and beamed around the Arabic-speaking world by satellite.

The show, which is aimed at children under 12, is hosted by a sweet-looking girl in a headscarf called Saraa and at first glance looks like any other kids TV program.

Muhammad banned all images that depicted him in the fear that his followers would worship them. The idea was to prevent the worship of false idols (i.e. other than Allah). That Islam, as an institution, has inoculated Muslims to overreact to non-Muslims producing images of Muhammad is...unfortunate.

"While I can understand Muslims being upset about how Mohammed was depicted, what they then proceeded to do next with violence is not understandable. Extreme actions simply produce the viewpoint that 'these people' are extremists."

Dane, Tunisians arrested in cartoonist murder plot

A Danish citizen of Moroccan descent and two Tunisians were arrested in Denmark on Tuesday over a plot to murder one of 12 cartoonists whose drawings of the Prophet Mohammad caused worldwide uproar in 2006.
The Security and Intelligence Service (PET) said the arrests near Aarhus in western Denmark were made after lengthy surveillance to prevent a "terror-related killing" that was in an early stage of planning.
PET said it expected the 40-year-old Danish citizen to be released pending further investigation. The Tunisians will remain detained while deportation proceedings are brought against them.
According to Jyllands-Posten, the newspaper that originally published the cartoons in September 2005, the suspects are accused of planning to kill 73-year-old Kurt Westergaard.
He drew the cartoon that caused the most controversy, depicting the founder of Islam with a bomb in his turban. The paper reproduced that drawing on its Web site on Tuesday.

Mr. Akinsiku says his Son of God is “a samurai stranger who’s come to town, in silhouette,” here to shake things up in a new, much-abridged version of the Bible rooted in manga, the Japanese form of graphic novels.
“We present things in a very brazen way,” said Mr. Akinsiku, who hopes to become an Anglican priest and who is the author of “The Manga Bible: From Genesis to Revelation.” “Christ is a hard guy, seeking revolution and revolt, a tough guy.”

It may look insane, but the guy at the picture is not a Photoshopped silhouette placed over a fake landscape. He's swimming at the Devil’s Pool, a natural rock pool at the very top of the Victoria Falls, at Zimbabwe, with a height of about 100 metres.
The Victoria Falls is a waterfall situated in southern Africa between the countries of Zambia and Zimbabwe. From September to December, due to low water levels, it is possible to swim at the edge of the falls in a naturally formed safe pool, accessed via Livingstone Island.
